This or That Tuesday
Summer Fun!
1. Lemonade or Ice Cold Beer? Oh, lemonade for sure. Very cold. Fresh lemons. Not too sweet. Despite the fact that TBG is a real beer connoisseur and brews his own, I just can't drink any beer with much more flavor than a Corona or Bud.
2. Swimming pool or beach? In the summer? Swimming pool. Yup, I'm just that wimpy. And way too paranoid about sharks. But any other season? I love walking on the beach.
3. Long weekends here & there, or a 2-week vacation? I wish we could/would take a real 2 week vacation. Instead we do the long weekend thing. The only extended vacation we have ever taken was November 01. We actually took a 5 day Carnival Cruise and then spent 4 days in St. Pete. And yes we took TLG with us. He was only 2 at the time. So many people came up to us and said, "Oh, he reminds me of my little one that I left at home." We had a wonderful time with him and frankly, I couldn't really imagine leaving my infant or toddler at home without either of his parents 5 to 7 days.
4. Destination: Acapulco or Hawaii? Gee ... I don't know. I think Acapulco but I don't really know why.
5. Destination: Mountains or Beach? Mountains. As long as there is some body of water, river, lake, creek or pond. Last summer we spent 4 days at cabin in Front Royal, Va and we all went wading/swimming and fishing in the Shenandoah. It was wonderful.
6. Hotel/motel/B&B or camping? Hmmm... pre-mamahood it was definitely B&Bs for us. We were often the youngest couples. TBG and I can have very "mature" tastes [which is a nice way of saying we can be old fuddy-duddies.] Seeing how TLG is such a nature boy, I wish we were doing more camping.
7. Carefully planned vacation, or play it by ear? Play it by ear - definitely. I like to carefully choose a general location which will have a range of activities that we think we might enjoy and then just load up the car, gather all kinds of tourism brochures at rest stops and welcome centers, and make it up as we go along.
8. Sneakers or sandals? Sandals. Of all kinds. As long as they are functional. Which for me means that I can walk or stand in them for more than 3 minutes at a time.
9. Air-conditioning or fans? AC all the way. [And, oh, how we are suffering with it out of commission.]
10. Concerts in the park or baseball games? Um... Neither. Come to think of it, what do we do on the weekends?
