Discussion for HGD, reading one (chapters 1 - 4)

What is the relationship between writing and graphic design, as described in the chapters we've read?

Define the following terms:

Petroglyph Pictogram Ideogram Rebus

Draw one of each.

How have the different materials used in "writing" affected what could and was written?

In what ways do these early "writing" systems remind you of new media representations?

Using photoshop, create a frontspiece for an illuminated manuscript on "America."
