The president of the college resigned some months ago; she had been president for 20 years. At the last Board of Trustees' meeting she was presented with a generous golden parachute. For example, she was given a year off at full salary -- around 195K; they called it a "sabbatical". She also got a secretary, money for a car and other benefits.

When faculty get a sabbatical, they get 2/3 payment for a half-year off and 1/2 payment for a full-year off.

At the same meeting, the Board raised student tuition by 9%!
