Urban Educ8r: A Wickerblog
This weblog is dedicated primarily to the discussion of Education issues and policies, as well as to chronicling the author's experiences as an inner-city school teacher. These days, the education discussion is too much in the hands of misinformed politicians merely doing what they need to gain re-election, and not enough in the hands of knowledgable professionals with first hand experience.

Today, in honor of national Teacher Appreciation Week, Chipotle restaurants handed out free burritos and a drink to any teacher with a school ID. I wasn't sure I believed it to be true until I got in line at my local chain, and saw several fellow educators with ID's in hand and just chatting away happily. Even ran into colleagues I had worked with in the past. Well, I certainly hope this marketing move works for them. I'm sure it cost them millions to hand out that much free food, but I hope it pays off. For teachers like me, fighting to get to the end of the school year, it just felt nice to be "appreciated" in small, tangible way. Thanks again, Chipotle.
