Niagara Circle

Just returned from a 3 day cycling trip doing the Niagara Circle (139km). Some younger more aggresive folk do it in two days (or maybe even one) but that would be a bit much. Besides there is lots to see and do along the way. We managed about 165km altogether (the route plus side excursions) roughly 55km a day. Fort Erie to Niagara on the Lake the first day, NOTL to Welland the second and Welland to Fort Erie on the last day. Published these pictures from the trip on Flickr.

Does Twitter have founderitis?

Whoever is in charge at Twitter really needs to knock some heads. Or maybe the person in charge needs to get head knocked. Last night the service apparently had "maintenance" -- today as predictable as clockwork the service is down for an extended period.

So what is the problem ?-- departure of the CTO hasn't solved the problem. Evan Williams claims that the base technology "Ruby on Rails" is not the problem and is there for the long term.

Maybe the problem is Evan Williams? Maybe Twitter has a severe case of "founderitis"?

(something technically wrong? -- I think the problem is deeper)

Twitter forked again

So it seems the recent departure of top technical people has not helped Twitter's stability (maybe all that money will?). The site is totally unavailable at this time (645 edt) and has been for at least 1/2 hour. Better than sort of working I guess?

Strangely enough the server that is www.twitter.com is pingable (I would have thought that would not be possible at any time --makes them very DOS vulerable).
