Chinese President Hu Jintao has left for the Asia-Africa summit and a
possible showdown with Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi as top
officials again urge Tokyo to deal with its history.
Japanese begin
to retaliate for often violent anti-Japanese demos in China -- dozens
of minor attacks on Chinese interests, including schools, restaurants and other businesses, now
being reported. In one of the latest, a man threw an incendiary device
at the Bank of China in Yokohama.
