FAQ
Q: What does "goro goro" mean?
A:
It's a Japanese phrase that's difficult to translate exactly -- but
think of a rolling or rumbling noise, like the sound of thunder.
Q: Who selects the items for Nippon Goro Goro?
A: Journalists based in Tokyo.
Q: Who owns NGG? Do you intend to make money off of it by placing advertising in the future?
A: The
owner is The Taisho Cable & Wireless Company, but you won't find us
on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, at least in the Heisei era. This is
strictly a philanthropic, no-income, not-for-profit endeavour, so we
will not accept advertising nor do we accept any donations. You can help us by linking to our blog.
Q: I want you to put an item on NGG. How do I reach you?
A: This
site is mainly intended to give readers a snapshot of what mainstream
media in Japan and elsewhere are reporting about big stories in Japan
(and nearby countries and islands), so we really don't solicit items. But
if you're really burning to get something off your chest, you can rent
an airplane and tow a banner above Chiyoda-ku where we might see it.
Otherwise you can click on the little yellow envelope on the left-hand
side of the main page.
