Who Am I - Mike Lehmann

I am currently a Product Manager at Oracle on our J2EE containers, part of the Oracle Application Server. I have been at Oracle for some time now - since late 1997 - in roles ranging from sales consultant/systems engineer (3 years - Java tools/servers/XML - in Vancouver, Canada), Product Marketing Manager (Oracle JDeveloper, Oracle Application Server, Web services - 2 years) and most recently product manager for our BPEL engine (coming up on 1 year) - these last two stints down at Redwood Shores, California. Pretty entertaining and fun set of jobs given the changes in technology and Oracle's product offering over that time.

Prior to all that, I was a Project Manager at the University of British Columbia in their student systems area - where, through some weird happy twist of fate, I was lucky enough to work through 4 generations of technology - homegrown OS/homegrown programming language/mainframe (there still were punched cards in 1987!), then commerical OS(TSO)/Cobol/IDMS/mainframe, then Windows client-server (Powerbuilder) and then well into the start of Web applications (VB cgi/Java - era=1996). Strangely, my last project there, implementing EDI for academic transcripts, seems to have been a useful backgrounder for my latest role with BPEL.

Find out what I'm up to by reading my blog.
