What is this OpenDarwin blog about?

Programming is my hobby. As I gain new insights into how something works, I typically jot the notes down in a simple text file journal that I keep inside the source code directory.

It occurred to me recently that what I'm learning may be of some use to the programming community at large. As long as I'm writing the notes anyway, I may as well publish them. If no one ever reads them, I don't mind. If they do read them, I hope it's useful to them.

I intend to use this blog to track my progress as I continue working on an I/OKit driver for use in darwin. The driver supports the once popular DEC 21x4x chipset series (sometimes referred to as the 'tulip'). The driver can be built fat to support both the PPC and x86 architectures since darwin runs on both.

If I take on any other duties with the opendarwin.org team, those activities will also be reflected on this blog.
