Lymphatic Drainage - Skin Brushing
Lymphatic drainage may be enhanced by skin brushing. This topic was recommended by my daughter Penny and a bit of research convinced me that a little bit of effort could mean plenty to a leukemia victim because my research indicates that body brushing is effective in promoting drainage of the lymphatic system.
From Product Details: “The lymphatic system consists of a myriad of delicate vessels found in almost every tissue of the body that contains blood vessels. These vessels perform essential functions including the transportation of nutrients from the small intestine into the interstitial space, the removal of waste products from cellular metabolism. A vast array of materials must be transported by this system through small movements such as the pressure changes which occur during breathing and pulsations from arterial circulation. Consequently, occasional congestion in the lymphatic system is common.”
I looked for a relationship between lymphatic drainage and leukemia and, strangely, I could find none on the Internet. My reasoning is that swollen lymph nodes are a possible symptom of leukemia. The excess white blood cells cause the lymphatic swelling. It seems reasonable to me that if lymphatic drainage could be improved then possibly some excess white blood cells could be channeled out of the body, through the lymphatic system. It’s worth a try and it requires no great effort.
Lymphatic Stimulation
The method is given here: “Our lymphatic system is our body’s immune system. The lymphatic fluid can become sluggish over time and dry skin brushing can be a lymphatic stimulant. Skin brushing helps exfoliate and invigorate our skin too. It increases our blood supply to the area bringing with it nourishment and oxygen. “
More here: “Skin brushing can be used over the entire body or just to special local areas to stimulate the body’s normal inflammatory healing response. This can be an excellent daily routine for the "Prevention of sickness & disease". Skin brushing is easily incorporated into your morning or evening shower or bath.” I will be trying skin brushing and if there is anything to report on this subject you can be sure it will be entered into this leukemia cancer treatments blog.
