Cancer Treatment Side Effects
I did a Google search for cancer treatment side effects and there was no one source for a comprehensive list so I think it worthwhile to compile one here. Of course, as usual, the source will be credited.
- Cancer – Radiation can cause cancer as can chemicals.
- Constipation - difficult passage of waste through the large intestine.
- Delirium – mental disorientation.
- Fatigue – tiredness
- Insomnia – inability to sleep
- Nausea and vomiting
- Mouth sores – a common chemotherapy side effect.
- Anemia – chemotherapy can cause a shortage of red blood cells.
- Premature menopause
- Sexual side effects – women – loss of libido
- Sexual side effects – men - impotence
- Radiation recall – chemo causing rashes where radiation was received.
- Diarrhea
- Photosensitivity – sensitivity to light
- Infection – due to compromised immune system
- Dry mouth – no explanation required
The list is not pretty and obviously any combination of any of the above can lead to serious loss of quality-of-life. In my opinion there are some things that are worse than dying and most of them are in that list.
