Flax Oil and Cottage Cheese
Clifford Beckwith had stage 4 prostate cancer in 1991. His story can be found here along with his account of the Dr. Johanna Budwig Diet that is based on flax oil and cottage cheese. Thirteen years later Cliff Beckwith is well and passing along stories about people who have used the diet with success against their cancer. "As I narrate this in July, l998, seven and a half years have passed since I was found to have stage four prostate cancer. As I learned later I should have been dead at least seven years."
Dr. Budwig noted that cancer patients had blood that was low in Omega-3 fatty acid. She discovered that flax oil could be used to boost Omega-3 but it had to be mixed with a protein-base food so that the combination would be water-soluble. Cottage cheese is an ideal food for that purpose. Dr. Budwig's research found that in order for these fatty acids to be fully available to the body, they must be tied to a sulfur based protein; the best source of which is cottage cheese.

Cliff Beckwith’s site should be an inspiration to anybody who has been diagnosed with cancer because a very simple change in diet is all that is required to put oneself on the road to recovery. His own words are, "Now I may be naïve, and I may yet die of cancer, but as of July 9, 2001, I have already lived about 10 years longer than my doctor really expected. He told me a couple of years after I was diagnosed that most men who had the condition I had did not make it 6 months. "
