Enemas

I would define an enema as the introduction of a liquid, via the anus, into the rectum for the purpose of facilitating the removal of toxins from the colon and the eventual removal of toxins from the entire body.

There are many people who find their sensibilities severely tested by any discussion about enemas. I understand those sensibilities. Most of us have been raised to consider the elimination and reproductive portions of our anatomy as being very private and extremely personal. That can be a problem because failing to come to terms with this necessary method of preparing our bodies to overcome a serious disease could be fatal.

I have posted previously about the cultural bias that exists about the subject of detoxification. We have to get by that bias so that we can focus on what is really important. We are trying to overcome a very serious disease. I like to think of the situation as being one of plumbing. We have to clean out some pipes so we had better get on with the task.

Enema Apparatus

An enema kit is required. The cost will be approximately $10.00. It consists of a rubber bag (capacity approximately 1 quart or 1 liter) which has a hose connected at the bottom. The hose terminates in a rigid plastic nozzle that is about 6 inches or 15 cm long. The rigid plastic is necessary because a flexible hose will not stay in place when it is inserted into the body. Vegetable oil can be used as a lubricant on the end of the nozzle for ease of insertion into the rectum. The liquid used for the enema should be close to body temperature.

Enema Procedure

This can be a tricky item that is dependant upon the household dynamics. A person living alone has no problem with bathroom schedules but it is a consideration for people who share living quarters. One should be able to complete the entire process within one hour.

The bathroom is the logical place for the procedure. I spread a blanket and pillow on the floor so that I can lie in comfort (If you have a fear of not being able to hold the enema then I would suggest lying in a bathtub half-filled with warm water. When you feel secure in your ability to hold the enema then you can use the floor). I use a stopwatch for a timer. The enema bag is hung from the showerhead bracket. I use bungee cords (dollar store variety) to adjust the height of the bag. For a coffee enema we only want the liquid to reach the sigmoid colon so the height of the bag should be not more than 24 inches or 60 cm. above the point of insertion. For a high enema, where we want the liquid to fill the entire colon, the bag can be hung as high as feasible.

Fill the enema bag with the enema solution. The shut-off on the hose should be released until the air is cleared from the hose. This is a necessary step because an air-locked hose will not allow the liquid to flow. When liquid flows in a steady stream use the shut-off to stop the flow. Then the tip is lubricated with the vegetable oil. While kneeling and bending forward very gently insert the nozzle into the anus and then release the hose shut-off. You then lie on your left side until the bag is empty. Close the shut-off and remove the nozzle. See the Important! note below. Wait the required time before passing the enema into the toilet or commode. A plastic colander (love that dollar store) sized to fit into the toilet bowl can be used to examine the waste. The absence of stringy blobs of mucus will be an indication that the toxins have been eliminated.

Important! - You must be aware that the length of the rigid plastic nozzle makes it possible to impact, and injure, the wall of the the sigmoid colon if there is enough pressure applied to the nozzle to force it completely into the rectum. Be always conscious of how you move while shifting position during the short period of time the liquid is entering your rectum. Immediately remove the nozzle when the enema bag is empty.

Enema Clean-Up

Fill the enema bag with hot water and allow it to drain through the hose and nozzle. A removable showerhead can be used to spray the exterior of the bag, hose, and nozzle with hot water. Then bleach or hydrogen peroxide can be used to sterilize the enema equipment.

Conclusion

The foregoing may seem intimidating to some. It did so for me but it quickly became a matter of routine.

The indicators of a healthy colon are easy to identify. A healthy colon will produce stools that are light brown in color, are long and thick, float lightly on top of the toilet water, and have little offensive odor.
