How quickly a situation a situation can change!

Late December I had a bowel blockage. I was amazed because of my strict diet.

April 1 I was on top of the world, very optimistic about golf and getting ready for it. On April 2. I was in agony from another blockage. The entire month of April was a combination of pain, discomfort and a steady loss of energy.

Emergency room treatment called for a CAT scan and that revealed some bad news. It showed my liver as being enlarged and putting pressure on my bowel. That accounted for the blockages.

The scan also revealed spots on my liver, pancreas, and lungs. Follow-up testing will reveal what the spots are but there is no doubt in anyone’s mind that those spots indicate cancer. I have neither the time nor the inclination to have them poking and prying at my body so I will see a Specialist May 16 to get my options. All I want is palliative care in order to have the pain meds monitored.

I seem to be at a good spot with the meds and I am comfortable with my situation.

My wish is that you find success in your search for a successful treatment for whatever ailment is troubling you.

Good luck!

March Report

A meeting with the oncologist handling my case had two results.

  1. We are to meet again one year from this month.
  2. Blood work will be done every three months (previously every 2 months).

The above was done because "Your disease has stabilized". No questions were asked regarding what I was doing with regard to my health.

Meanwhile, I have started a major colon-cleansing regime (7 day duration) that utilizes oxygen. That intrigues me because oxygen is deadly to cancer cells. I will be reporting more on the process when the cleansing is complete.

My latest blood work showed a white blood cell count of 33,000.

I was diagnosed in May of 2003 with a wbc of 14,800 and the counts went up and down to a high of 55,000 in June of 2005. The progression has been downward since then to the present time.

It seems my efforts with regard to diet and exercise are showing some positive results and I find that very encouraging.

The Holiday season is over and I have completed three weeks of water and juice  fasting. I believe that will be it, as far as fasting goes, for me.

I have also started a regime of daily stretching and slowly worked up to 20-minute sessions of lying on my back while doing leg pedaling.  My goal is to get to 30 minutes non-stop. It's a great workout for the abs in particular and overall fitness in general. A daily 20-minute brisk walk will also be included, weather permitting.

My diet is based on brown rice and baked fish for the main meal. A variety of meat and fish taste enhancers such as HP sauce, barbeque sauces, etc. are used to add some spice and zing. I find that the brown rice gives me enough satisfaction to avoid snacking in the evening, which is my bane.

Breakfast is one cup of oatmeal; it's called porridge in this part of the world.

Early February I am due for blood work. We will see what the counts are at that time.

I received some good news today. My counts are down to 35,000 from 41,400. My plan now is to enjoy the upcoming holidays and after the New Year try a combination of the The Breuss Leukemia Cure and Artemisinin . Perhaps the double whammy will do the trick.

My latest white blood count came in at 41,400 which is a slight drop from 45,000. I am eating lots of organic vegetables from my garden.

As a result of an e-mail from a reader, I decided to give artemisinin a try. It is a Chinese herbal remedy that is reputed to be effective against leukemia. It will be interesting to see what the blood work shows in mid-December.

I am taking four 100 mg capsules twice per day (away from food) along with three capsules of cod liver oil to enhance absorbsion. Some artemisinin sources suggest 100 mg per 40 pounds of body weight and one capsule of cod liver oil per 30 pounds of body weight. I am doing about 65% of that.

This post is to let the reader know I am alive and well. The summer has been a great one for golfing and/or just enjoying the weather.

I have had two blood tests done and the results for white blood count were 55,000 and then a drop to 45,000 with no conscious effort on my part.

I am going to give a macrobiotic diet a try. It is based on whole grains and vegetables with the exclusion of fats, sugars, oil and fruit. I'll post more on this later with a report on how one can overcome the blandness of this regime.
