Removable Media For Our Minds. In his latest article for TheFeature.com, David Pescovit reports on the first baby steps toward "memory prosthetics," systems that could someday enable us to google our entire lives. "Too often, our memories don't serve us well. We lose our keys. We forget names. As we age, the home movies that play in our heads begin to look like fifth generation VHS copies. But what if we could rewind to yesterday? Indeed, what if we could watch our entire lives flash before our eyes with the click of button? The possibility is not as far fetched as one might think." Diabetes Phone from LG Electronics
LG Electronics, the world's fifth-largest handset maker, will roll out diabetes care phones next month for the first time in the world through an alliance with Healthpia, the health-related venture start-up.

The high-end gear is equipped with a microchip, which can measure human body's glucose, a sugar that comes from food, Healthpia marketing head Lim Young-soon said.

The diabetes phone will also accumulate the disease data and deliver them to a doctor, thus enabling the patients to get consultation and medication services without having to visit the hospital in person. [Via Smart Mobs]

Mobicomp 2014: Roaming Computation Tribes?

What if they don't just share computing power? What if they share perceptions, observations, thinking?" Howard Rheingold [Via The Feature]
