Fed up with life in the UK we moved to France for a new start. Left behind the private schooling, traffic jams and housing estates for a better quality of life. We now live in Brittany, France running gites (holiday cottages).

Since an article appeared in the Daily Mail last week about our gites we have been inundated with enquires about our summer availability. Just goes to show there is still some life left in paper advertising. However it's quite short-lived unlike round-the-clock web adverts.

These are our experiences of running a gite business in Brittany, France. A gite is the French equivalent of a country holiday cottage. French culture, language, taxes and bureaucracy.
