Tip 11: Reducing Overloads - iTunes
Use the following steps in iTunes to remove Podcasts that you have already listened to:
1) Create a new Smart Playlist - iTunes > New Smart Playlist...
2) Check the Match the following conditions and Live updating checkboxes
3) Set line item to:
Genre - contains - Podcast (or whatever type of genre you wish to match)
4) OK - name this new smart playlist "MASTER PLAYLIST"
5) Create another Smart Playlist
6) Check the Match all of the following conditions and Live updating checkboxes
7) Set the line items to:
Play Count - is - 0
Date Added - is in the last - 14 Days
Playlist - is - MASTER LIST
8) OK - name this new smart playlist "Stuff to listen to"
This Smart Playlist will remove any "Podcast" that has been listened to older then one week (or whatever you set the time limit to)
