Experiment's journal will be blogged here This will be the first in a long series of personal notes that go with
my transparency experiment to record my thoughts about how things are
going, my motivations for making certain decisions, and any unexecuted
ideas regarding media transparency. I'm doing them at the suggestion
of Jay Rosen from NYU's J-School who, in an e-mail said:
"Keep [the
experiment up] and don't forget to document each step of what you are
doing, but that includes the 'thought' steps, how you are reasoning
about transparency, technology and trust. Often that remains
implicit in the experiment, but I would urge you to keep making the
thinking explicit-- premises, hunches, if/then statements."
I also met Mr. Rosen at the WebCred conference and he really encouraged
me to get started. Thank you Mr. Rosen for motivating me to
establish this journal (whisper to Mr Rosen: one journal begets
another). In a subsequent e-mail, he said to blog this
information as opposed to doing it as a living, breathing
document. So, what better place than the Transparency Experiment
category of this transparency channel to record these thoughts.
If you're interested in tracking these thoughts and any other
experiment related content, just subscribe to the aforementioned
category's feed or click on the category link to the right.
