I ran across this news blurp in The Register, Claiming that the net neutrality it causing paranoia. I totally disagree! There are those in the media who would have you believe that if you do not take at face value ever word they type as the truth, well you are paranoid. I do not believe 90% of the news I hear, the news is written for advertisers.
For once in America real journalists like you and I people who really have un-biased opinions exist. A Journalist is not someone who went to journalism school and has a degree in journalism. That definition my friends is a joke. A journalist is one who investigates and give an un-biased opinion based upon facts! |

Last week came the whole fiasco of the times article reporting on The White House spying on "banking accounts" looking for possible indications of "terrorist activities".
Then President Bush came out and called it Disgraceful that we have a free press that would report on a president spying on its citizens and expect th government to comply with the consitution. now they are trying to pass a new banking law that allows them the right to spy, This time it is an open and honest exchange because it is a "law".

Microsoft ponders Windows successor.
(InfoWorld) - San Jose, Calif. - A successor to the Microsoft Windows operating system, while still very much in the theoretical stage, is expected to better leverage multicore processors, for starters, a Microsoft official said on Wednesday afternoon.
Speaking at The Venture Forum conference, Microsoft's Bryan Barnett, a program manager for external research programs in the Microsoft Research group, said multicore architectures are of particular interest when weighing what to put in future operating systems at the company.
"Taking full advantage of the processing power that those multicore architectures potentially make available requires operating systems and development tools that don't exist largely today," Barnett said
Windows currently will run on multicore processors, but is not fully optimized for them, according to Barnett. "It's not a question of just running on a multicore architecture. It's a question of what do you do to fully exploit the capabilities there," he said.
There is no timetable for a Windows successor right now. But early work on this effort has not yet been organized, with five or six small projects afoot in various places throughout the company, said Barnett.
Finding a DOS successor in the early 1990s seemed a simpler task, he said. "Somehow, it was easier when the company was smaller a long time ago," Barnett said.
"Merely having size and resources isn't necessarily in this instance an advantage," he said.
For now, Microsoft plans to release its next major version of Windows, Windows Vista, in 2007. By paul_krill@infoworld.com (Paul Krill). [InfoWorld: Top News]

I have lived in my beautiful 4,000 sq ft Home Here in Las Vegas Nevada for about a year and a half. We bought it new so one would think it would be in pristine condition. It probably would be if it were not for the loves of my life, Sargent Chubs and Major Beast, My two English Bulldogs. They are the most wonderful companions but a bit messy and Sargent Chubs has an issue with urinating at will where ever she chooses, although it is not totally her fault. My girlfriend is Claustrophobic and passes her phobias on to others in the form of absolutely NO crate training allowed!
Anyway I had brought in a professional carpet cleaning company a few times an the guy kept leaving the carpet slightly damp. After the fist time I told him he needed to get all the water out that if he left the water in all he was doing was spreading the urine. He declared he was the expert and acted put out that I would question his un-questionable carpet cleaning authority, after he had the big truck mounted machine!
Standard Declarations All Carpet Cleaning Companies Make:
Big Truck Mounted Machine
Their Machine Cleans Way Better Than Any Other
Pet Smell Will Never Go Away
Stains Cannot Be Removed
Carpets Stay Wet, Open The Windows To Dry Them
No Guarantees
Two months went by the smell was horrible and by girlfriend picked up the phone to call this stupid son a bitch again, NO, NO, NO I said, we are not letting that crook in here, "I like him" she said "and he is right the smell will never go away as long as you have bulldogs." No he is a Liar and a Crook and it smells because of him. She said "well do you know someone better?" I said anyone would be better, but I have found that all carpet cleaning companies make the same declarations before they start the job, they all leave the water, and they all do a bad job for the low price of $120.00 (Doesn't seem to matter if your house is 4000 sq ft or a studio apartment.) I told her not to worry about it and I went out to buy Patio Furniture and Groceries. and as luck would have it the grocery store had patio furniture on close out and rented carpet cleaning machines. I have seen these machines in stores for years and have never rented one. But This Time I did.
When I got home, my girlfriend picked up the fight where she left off: "Did you figure out who you were going to hire to clean these carpets?" I declared YES I did, She said, "Who?" I said, I hired the greatest carpet cleaning company in the world, the one who cares more about our carpets, than any other company around? She said: "oh brother, where did you meet this guy; at the grocery store?" I whipped out my Rug Doctor Mighty Pro Rental model and said Its me! and she fell out laughing and laughing.
The next morning I got up bright and early, and started cleaning. The Learning curve was not bad one button to turn on, one button to spray water and pull, easy. In 10 minutes I was better than any professional carpet cleaning company I had ever delt with, and just as I has suspected the water can come out of the carpet almost completely, it is almost dry when I am done doing a 3rd suction pass.
Remember the main selling feature: The Big Truck Mounted Unit!!! Well take the horse power of that truck mounted unit and then divide it by the feet of house they are using to get to your carpet and you will find that there is nothing left. The Rug Doctor, on the other Hand is 1.9 Horse Power in direct contact with the carpet.
The End results were the best carpet cleaning I have ever had, a few of the pet stains were still there so I cleaned again the next day. They got a little better. I called Kerri a sales person at Rug Doctor and she told me it takes time, over several cleansing I will see them come all the way out, as long as all the water is removed with each cleaning. (Sound Familiar???)
I Bought myself a Rug Doctor, I couldn't be Happier! I have a new hobby cleaning my carpets! My girlfriend is happy and the Dogs well they are sleeping in the crate :)
Rug Doctor sells the machine for 29.00+shipping to Try it for 30 days and then if you keep it, you pay $50.00 a month for 15 months. Way cheaper than spending $120.00 every single month. and the biggest difference is not the smell but the air itself is easier to breath. Like pollen and dust are gone. Check out the Rug Doctor

Well Paranoid Rantees Its time to get Paranoid. this News story throws the serious spin on events. The times published a story a week ago about the government spying on Americans in the name of catching "Terrorists".
Now President Bush is calling that disgraceful? Let me tell you something Mr. Bush the Disgrace is when the President of the United States has the nerve to tell the American people that it is the United States Governments right to Spy on its population. He further states that we are at war with people who are out to destroy us.
Need I remind the President that he was lying about weapons of mass destruction and he had yet to prove anything!
But that has not stopped many thousands of American boys from getting killed and mamed over a war that was put together to get oil and make Bush Family and friends Wealthier.
He further states that the spying they were going to do was legal???? What Law is that? Oh yes The Patriot Act. The Un-Constitutional Law! And when something is in direct Violation to the Constitution, it has no force or effect of Law. You Remember that Mr. Bush, don't you? I believe it was 11th grade Government Class..... Or was that back in the Cocaine Days???
Anyway look it up Mr President. You are Passing Laws that are Un-Constituional and furthermore Mr. Bush. As far as This American can see it. The only one at war against America and Freedom is you!

Buffett donates $37bn to charity |
Warren Buffett says he was "wired at birth to allocate capital" | Billionaire investor Warren Buffett is to donate about $37bn (£20bn) - most of his vast personal fortune - to Bill Gates' charitable foundation.
Mr Buffett will hand 10 million shares in his Berkshire Hathaway firm to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
In a statement, Mr and Mrs Gates said they were "awed" by the donation, thought to be the largest charitable gift ever made in the United States.
The foundation aims to fight disease and promote education around the world.
News of the donation comes shortly after Mr Gates announced he is to step away from his day-to-day role at software giant Microsoft.
By July 2008 Mr Gates, the world's richest businessman, will concentrate on the foundation, which is currently worth just under $30bn.
New will
Warren Buffet, known as "the oracle of Omaha" for his relentless success in investments, is worth an estimated $44bn, according to Forbes magazine.
 |
Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation
Fund of $29.1bn
$10.5bn in grants since 1994
Aims: reducing poverty and improving health and access to education
Largest grant: $1bn to the United Negro College Fund
70% of aid spent outside US
|
As well as donating to the Gates foundation, he also pledged shares for his three children and a substantial gift for a foundation established for his late wife, Susan Thompson Buffett.
All the gifts will be awarded yearly, with 5% of each donation passed on each year, it was announced.
He confirmed his decision in letters to the recipients, and said he would write a new will to ensure the money continues to be distributed after his death.
"We are awed by our friend Warren Buffet's decision to use his fortune to address the world's most challenging inequities, and we are humbled that he has chosen to direct a large portion of it to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation," the couple's statement said.
'Unconscionable disparity'
In making his award, Mr Buffett - who plays bridge with Mr Gates - said he chose to distribute his wealth to an existing foundation out of respect for its current work.
"Who wouldn't select Tiger Woods to take his place in a high-stakes golf game? That's how I feel about this decision with my money," he told Fortune magazine.
One of the terms of the donation is that at least one of Bill or Melinda Gates continues to be involved with the foundation.
The foundation has evolved into one of the leading philanthropical organisations in the world, listing as one of its primary goals "reducing the 'unconscionable disparity' that exists between the way that we live and the way that the people of the developing world live". |

Net neutrality lobbying intensifies.
(InfoWorld) - Advocates on both sides of a debate in the U.S. Congress over net neutrality pumped up their lobbying efforts late this week, even as a Senate committee delayed acting on the issue.
The Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee, scheduled Thursday to consider amendments to a 150-plus-page broadband bill, met for about two hours before adjourning to allow senators to vote on other legislation. The committee got through about 10 of the more than 210 amendments proposed for the broadband bill before committee Chairman Ted Stevens, an Alaska Republican, rescheduled the hearing for 10 a.m. Tuesday.
[ See also: Net neutrality face-off on NPR ]
The delay allows tech companies and consumer groups pushing for Congress to prohibit broadband providers from blocking or impairing competing Web content to continue their efforts to strengthen net neutrality provisions in the bill. The committee on Thursday did not address net neutrality and the bill's broadcast flag provision, which would require the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to create a technology plan for protecting online video and audio files.
Entertainment companies have pushed for broadcast flag rules, saying Congress should protect their copyrights. But some consumer and technology groups have protested the provision, saying it would restrict legal consumer uses of video and audio files.
But most of the debate over the bill centers around net neutrality. The latest version of the bill, sponsored by Stevens, would allow broadband customers to run Internet applications of their choosing, but it doesn't prohibit broadband providers from giving their own services preference over competing services. An earlier version of the bill only instructed the FCC to make annual reports to Congress on the free flow of Internet information.
A bill passed by the House this month would allow the FCC to investigate content-blocking complaints after the fact. Both the House and the Senate bills would streamline franchising requirements for telecom companies rolling out television-over-Internet Protocol services in competition with cable TV.
Broadband providers such as AT&T Inc. say they have no plans to block competing Web content, but they want to be able to explore new business plans that allow them to charge new fees to give some Web content priority routing across the Internet. Net neutrality backers have protested that such a plan would create a two-tiered network, with content from broadband providers and their partners in a fast lane and everyone else in a slow lane.
This week, Tim Berners-Lee, inventor of the World Wide Web, recorded a video in support of a net neutrality law. "When I invented the Web, I didn't have to ask anyone's permission," Berners-Lee wrote in his blog. "Now, hundreds of millions of people are using it freely. I am worried that that is going to end in the USA."
Meanwhile, AT&T and other broadband providers continued to push for Congress to allow them to control their own broadband pipes without government regulation. AT&T rejected a proposal, made by civil liberties group the Center for Democracy and Technology (CDT), that would allow broadband providers to offer special services on private networks separate from the Internet, but require them to treat all Internet traffic the same.
"When you put lipstick on a pig it's still a pig," said AT&T spokeswoman Claudia Jones. "CDT's proposal is a transparent effort to put some lipstick on the many proposals to regulate the Internet. This proposal will still result in consumers paying all the costs of building a better Internet while Internet Goliaths like Google receive government-sanctioned corporate welfare to avoid paying their fair share."

TorrentSpy names hacker and details attack.
(InfoWorld) - TorrentSpy named the hacker who it claims broke into its computer systems on behalf of the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA), as part of a legal request that would force the MPAA to turn over documents stolen from the Internet file-searching company.
TorrentSpy accused the MPAA in May of paying a hacker US$15,000 to steal confidential company information, including e-mails and passwords for accessing TorrentSpy's servers. The MPAA has called the charges baseless.
On Thursday, TorrentSpy asked the U.S. District Court, Central District of California, to require the MPAA to hand over any documents it acquired and reveal who has seen them. If the court grants the request, made as part of the discovery stage of the case, the MPAA will have 10 days to comply.
TorrentSpy included with its court filing a declaration from Robert Anderson, the hacker allegedly hired by the MPAA, detailing his activities and his ties to TorrentSpy.
Anderson describes himself as an "acquaintance" of Justin Bunnell, a principal of the company that runs TorrentSpy.com, who did some marketing work in 2004 and 2005 for a company Bunnell was involved with. The two parted ways in April last year, when Anderson stopped working for the company and became "upset" with Bunnell, he said in his declaration.
Two months later, Anderson contacted the MPAA and offered to provide it with information about TorrentSpy, he said. The court filing includes a document described as a contract signed by the MPAA and a bogus company, representing Anderson, that includes the MPAA's agreement to pay Anderson the $15,000 for his services.
Anderson says the MPAA "knew, or reasonably should have known," that he was not authorized to obtain the information he did, which also included e-mails, client billing information, IP (Internet protocol) addresses of servers, a cashflow spreadsheet and a personal utility bill of one of the company's principals.
He also names a private investigator firm that he allegedly helped hire on behalf of the MPAA to comb through Bunnell's trash and that of other TorrentSpy associates.
The MPAA didn't immediately respond to a request for comment Friday morning. In the past it has described the claims as "baseless" and accused TorrentSpy of filing its lawsuit in retaliation against earlier suits filed by the MPAA.
The MPAA filed several lawsuits earlier this year in an effort to shut down Web sites operated by companies, including TorrentSpy, that help users find digital music and video files online.
TorrentSpy operates a search engine that allows users to find files that can be shared using BitTorrent Inc.'s file sharing system. TorrentSpy argues that it only helps users find files but doesn't actually offer content itself, so it can't be held liable for users who download illegal content.
Those suits, and the action initiated by TorrentSpy regarding the hacker allegations, are ongoing.

WSOP 2006 Poker News ONLINE POKER ROOMS INCREASE USE OF SATELLITES AS WSOP APPROACHES
LAS VEGAS -- June 6, 2006 - Continuing the established practice of using final tables at major tournaments to advance their "ambush marketing" efforts, several online poker rooms are offering players the option to qualify online or via discounted buy-in, for the first open event of the 2006 World Series of Poker (WSOP). As part of the deal, most poker room sponsors will require players to wear a shirt or baseball cap with the site’s logo.
The $1500 buy-in No Limit Hold'em event is scheduled for June 27-29 at the Rio Pavilion Convention Center. Here’s a brief summary of each site’s satellite offerings (all times are Eastern Daylight Time): Bodog.com is offering 20 $54 buy-in satellites each week, Monday through Friday at 5:05 pm, 7:05 pm, 9:05 pm and 11:05 pm. The winner of each satellite will receive a $1500 buy-in to any $1500 buy-in WSOP preliminary bracelet of his or her choice. The winner will also get $1000 in cash to cover travel expenses.
FullTiltPoker.com is offering 10 satellites each week, daily at 9:00 pm, as well as on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 11:59 pm . Buy-ins range from $26 to $216. Each satellite awards as many $2000 packages as possible, with each package containing three $500 WSOP buy-in chips and $500 in cash to cover travel expenses. The buy-in chips can be used to buy into any 2006 WSOP preliminary bracelet event.
UltimateBet.com is offering $55 buy-in satellites on June 5th at 8:45 pm and June 10th at 1:30 pm. In addition, the site will offer a $33 buy-in, with $30 rebuys and $30 add-on satellite on June 5th at 5:30 pm. Each satellite will award as many $2500 packages as possible, with each package containing a $1500 buy-in to the No Limit Hold'em event June 27-29 and $1000 in cash to cover travel expenses.
PokerStars.com is offering a variety of WSOP "Level 1" sub-satellites around the clock, with buy-ins starting at $2. These tournaments will allow players who have achieved "SilverStar VIP" status to accumulate enough special tournament credits known as W$ in order to buy into nine WSOP preliminary events, including the $1500 buy-in No Limit Hold'em event June 27-29. The winners of each "Level 1" sub-satellite can withdraw from the "Level 2" satellite and accumulate W$ in their account.
Several third party "poker currency trading" websites offer W$ at a discount of $0.90-$0.95 for each W$. This enables PokerStars.com players with "SilverStar VIP" status to buy 1500 W$ with cash at a discount (of 90-95%), and use the W$ to buy-in to the WSOP event. In order to achieve "SilverStar VIP" status at PokerStars.com, a player must accumulate 1500 "VIP Player Points" each month by playing a combination of cash games and tournaments.
Terms & Conditions In most cases, players who qualify for a WSOP preliminary bracelet event online are expected to sign a "Terms and Conditions" contract, which requires them to wear a shirt or baseball cap with the logo of the sponsoring online poker room. Compliance with the contract is required before the site will register a player into a WSOP event.
Players who already have an existing logo sponsorship agreement with another online poker room, as well as those who participate in an intercollegiate sports competition sanctioned by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), are advised to read the "Terms and Conditions" contract displayed by each online poker room before they enter any online satellite tournament to qualify for a WSOP event. Added caution is advised to ensure players avoid running afoul of existing contract agreements and by laws.
It is important to note that the NCAA will vigorously enforce Bylaw 12.5.2.1, which prohibits any student-athlete who participates in an NCAA-sanctioned sport from carrying out any "endorsement activity" without the permission of the NCAA or a member school. In February, the NCAA suspended Sonoma State University golfer Robert Neary, who won more than $520,000 for finishing second at the main event of the 2006 Crown Australian Poker Championship (a.k.a. Aussie Millions). The one match suspension at the start of the 2006 intercollegiate golf season was for wearing a "PartyPoker" logo during the Aussie Millions. Neary arrived at the tournament via an online satellite at PartyPoker.com, where he had agreed to "Terms and Conditions" that required him to wear the "PartyPoker" logo at the Aussie Millions. According to a source at Harah’s Entertainment, the final table of the first open WSOP event (scheduled for June 29th) is expected to air on ESPN in early October, after ESPN has concluded its coverage of the 2006 WSOP World Championship Main Event on September 26. According to ESPN's online schedule database, the cable network will air the 2006 WSOP Main Event before it airs any 2006 WSOP preliminary bracelet event so that the broadcast of the Main Event can conclude on September 26, one week prior to the start of the Major League Baseball playoffs. An ESPN spokesperson declined to confirm the information in the schedule database as of June 1.
Once again, the first open WSOP event is expected to be a sell-out. In 2005, 2305 players entered the same opening event, resulting in long lines at the player registration desk, the "will call" window for online qualifiers, and the cashier's cage.
Harrah's Entertainment has a 14-day deadline for online poker rooms to register players using cashier's checks to pay for WSOP tournament buy-ins. The last day to register with a cashier's check for the $1500 buy-in No Limit Hold'em event scheduled for June 27-29 is June 13. PokerStars.com in particular has set a deadline of June 7 for players to use W$ to buy into the event.

(InfoWorld) - The Programmers Guild, a group representing IT workers, has begun filing what will amount to about 380 legal complaints against U.S. companies advertising that they prefer to hire foreign workers with H-1B visas.
The group has filed about 100 complaints since May and plans to file about 280 more over the next six months, said John Miano, founder of the Guild. The complaints, made to the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), accuse several companies of advertising that they specifically want H-1B workers, a violation of U.S. law.
The U.S. Immigration and Nationality Act requires that U.S. jobs must be available to U.S. workers.
As several large U.S. tech vendors push for an increase in the annual H-1B cap of 65,000, the complaints are intended to show that problems with the program are common, Miano said. U.S. tech vendors frequently use H-1B visas to hire workers for positions they say are hard to fill.
"Abuse of the H-1B program has become so widespread that companies apparently feel free to engage openly" in advertising seeking H-1B workers before U.S. workers, Miano said.
The complaints stem from ads containing wording such as "We require candidates for H1B from India," and "We sponsor GC [green card] and we do prefer H1B holders," the Programmers Guild said. The Programmers Guild, looking for ads on major online job boards, has so far targeted only ads seeking computer programmers, the guild said.
The Programmers Guild has not yet compiled a list of the companies targeted in the complaints, but most of the companies are what Miano called "body shops," not big-name technology vendors from the U.S. Some of the ads come from recruiters running operations out of apartments, the Programmers Guild said.
The Information Technology Information Council (ITI), a Washington, D.C., trade group representing about 40 large IT vendors, said an increase in the H-1B cap is needed even if some abuses exist. The cap for the 2007 fiscal year, which begins Oct. 1, was reached May 26, but a comprehensive immigration bill that passed the U.S. Senate in May would raise the yearly limit to 115,000.
ITI member companies are not violating hiring laws, said Kara Calvert, ITI's director of government relations. "It doesn't help [ITI companies] to try to circumvent the rules," she said. "If people are breaking the rules, they should pay the price."
The Programmers Guild plans to continue filing complaints through November, Miano said. The guild is staggering the complaints to allow the DOJ to process them efficiently, he said.

(InfoWorld) - On Friday, when AT&T Inc. goes into its next court hearing on a lawsuit about alleged spying on its customers, the carrier will also be instituting a privacy policy for Internet and video services that says it owns subscriber account information.
"While your account information may be personal to you, these records constitute business records that are owned by AT&T. As such, AT&T may disclose such records to protect its legitimate business interests, safeguard others, or respond to legal process," reads the policy, which becomes effective Friday. It covers only the carrier's Internet services, such as AT&T/Yahoo DSL (digital subscriber line), and its emerging U-verse and Homezone TV services. U-verse delivers TV and video over a fast form of DSL, and Homezone is a combination of DSL and satellite TV. Both are set for commercial launch before September.
AT&T is facing a class-action lawsuit led by the Electronic Frontier Foundation, a civil rights group that says the carrier handed over information on use of its Internet access services to the U.S. National Security Agency. Alleged law enforcement programs to collect information from carriers and Internet companies have raised alarm about how much information people may give up when they use the Internet or make a phone call.
The new policy document isn't a change in approach, according to AT&T. The carrier wrote it to explain its policies for the video services and in the process reworked language it had used in earlier policies.
"These policies clarify long-standing AT&T policy," said company spokeswoman Tiffany Nels. "We eliminated a lot of the legalese and used a lot of plain English."
That's not necessarily cause for relief, according to Sherwin Siy, staff counsel at the Electronic Privacy Information Center, in Washington, D.C.
"Everything they say they will do under the new policy could be read into the old policy," Siy said. "Even a privacy policy that may look good in the abstract, if it's sufficiently vague and it's not specific in how it provides protection for consumers, really does nothing other than provide the company with a way out of taking responsibility for the uses of customer information."
One new item in the document is a policy involving AT&T's video services. The carrier will collect information about what subscribers watch and record, Nels said. That data will help the company "personalize the viewing experience" through services such as show recommendations, she said.
In addition, subscribers have to agree to the policy as part of their contract with AT&T. The video services will require a home visit for setup, and at that time the customer will have to sign a copy of the rules, Nels said. DSL subscribers are understood to agree to the policy by continuing to use the service -- that aspect hasn't changed, Nels said.
The Cable Communications Policy Act of 1984 forbids cable and satellite TV providers from collecting subscriber viewing information, according to Michael Overing, an attorney and an adjunct professor in the Annenberg School for Communication at the University of Southern California.
"Because they're not regulated in the same way by the FCC, they can collect the data on your viewing preferences," Overing said. "The problem ... is that this data's going to be collected in a database. ... The federal government sees those databases as a real opportunity to look for criminals."
Without discussing whether AT&T's video services are subject to the Cable Act, Nels said the carrier's policies meet the privacy requirements of that law.

Google testing cost-per-action ads.
(InfoWorld) - Google is testing an ad model that in theory isn't vulnerable to click fraud, a serious problem that some believe puts in danger Google's main source of revenue: search engine-based advertising.
Google has built its business on displaying text ads based on a keyword or phrase entered in its search engine or included on a Web page published by Google or by a partner publisher. In this model, known as pay per click, Google collects the entire click fee for ads displayed on its pages. If the ad is displayed on a third-party Web site, Google splits the fee with the publisher of that Web site.
While very successful, pay-per-click ads are vulnerable to click fraud, which occurs when someone clicks on a pay-per-click ad maliciously, without any intent to do business with the advertiser. Click fraud perpetrators engage in this practice for two main reasons. First, a company may want to run up a competitor's advertising costs. Second, a Web site publisher may want to increase its commission revenue.
Click fraud is hard to track and detect, and estimates of its incidence vary widely, with some suggesting as many as 20 percent of clicks may be fraudulent, in which case Google's business could be in jeopardy. Google derives virtually all of its revenue from pay-per-click ads. To a lesser extent, Yahoo, AOL, and Microsoft's MSN division also stand to lose from click fraud.
Now, Google has begun inviting some of the publishers on its AdSense Web site advertising network to test cost-per-action (CPA) ads, which are similar to pay-per-click ads but with a major difference: advertisers only pay when the click yields a specific result, such as a concrete business lead or an actual sale. Some niche players already provide CPA ads, but Google's entry into the market would bring the concept to a critical mass of advertisers.
A Google spokesman confirmed via e-mail that the company is conducting this test. "We’re pleased with how the test is progressing and will continue to gather feedback from advertisers and publishers," he wrote.
"This type of program helps Google and other portals [like Yahoo and MSN] pursuing this type of ad product in several ways," said Kelsey Group analyst Matt Booth in an e-mail commentary. Namely, actions like telephone calls, leads, or transactions are more valuable than mere clicks, because they deliver customers who are closer to doing business with the advertiser, Booth said.
Word of Google's test surfaced on Wednesday when a publisher in the AdSense network wrote in his blog that he had received an invitation to this test. David Jackson, editor and founder of the online financial publication SeekingAlpha, posted the full text of the e-mail, which the Google spokesman confirmed as legitimate.
In part, the e-mail reads: "The CPA ads come from a limited group of high quality advertisers that are interested in displaying ads on a CPA basis. They pay you whenever a site visitor performs a specified action, such as generating a lead or purchasing a product."

Once again the Bush Administration wants to SPY on you!
I am sick and tired of hearing my Republican friends, actually friend as only one of them still calls himself a Republican. It all seems to be directly connected with how often you attend church.
Well Church going Americans here is a News Flash, Christ would not have been a Republican! Republicans act much more like the mod who crucified christ.
Just think of the last abortion rally you saw on TV, all those great Republican Christians standing there yelling Baby Killer, Now dub out the voices and Crucify Him, It fits huh, pretty scarey tell that one to your pastor.
Anyone the following article is another article of how the Bush administration is threatening to kill the internet if more information about Americans is not turned over to them.

MySpace plans new age restrictions (AP).
Yahoo! News: Technology News]
Talk about something to be paranoid about what the hell is with this announcement.
We've all seen the TV films about the 50 year old man stripping naked before he sneaks in to have sex with the 13 year old girl he met on my space.
Now while this press release is dressed up to look like it is myspace helping children, in reality it is giving perverts a week to log on open an account and go add every kid they want to their list.
There is no need for a one week notice. Institute the change immediately and then when the guy logs on you say Don't think so Dude!
The Reality behind this press release: it is a membership marketing ploy, myspace is reaching out to its most dedicated fan base, the petaphiles. I can see the big board meeting before this announcement. Lets all put a big push in for this weeks drive and add one million New Petaphile members in the next 7 days.

This is the beautiful thing about Americans, the best way to market to them, is to scare the crap out of them. This guy is going to show up and do his little hacking a laptop magic trick, everyone is going to go ooooo ahhhh and do you think he is going there to show us we are unsafe. We already know we are unsafe my guess is: he will reveal a new software program that will stop the very same invasion that he just demonstated.
Now wait; is he going to hack my laptop, your laptop, or his own?
How do we know, that they were not linked to begin with?
We Don't........ soooooo therefore we shall by his spyware, that will probably give him a backdoor into everyones computer who buys his solution.
Ok I'm convinced. I am opting out of his program! Whos with me?
Researchers hack Wi-Fi driver to breach laptop.
(InfoWorld) - Security researchers have found a way to seize control of a laptop computer by manipulating buggy code in the system's wireless device driver.
The hack will be demonstrated at the upcoming Black Hat USA 2006 conference during a presentation by David Maynor, a research engineer with Internet Security Systems and Jon Ellch, a student at the U.S. Naval postgraduate school in Monterey, California.
Device driver hacking is technically challenging, but the field has become more appealing in recent years, thanks in part to new software tools that make it easier for less technically savvy hackers, known as script kiddies, to attack wireless cards, Maynor said in an interview.
The two researchers used an open-source 802.11 hacking tool called LORCON (Lots of Radion Connectivity) to throw an extremely large number of wireless packets at different wireless cards. Hackers use this technique, called fuzzing, to see if they can cause programs to fail, or perhaps even run unauthorized software when they are bombarded with unexpected data.
Using tools like LORCON, Maynor and Ellch were able to discover many examples of wireless device driver flaws, including one that allowed them to take over a laptop by exploiting a bug in an 802.11 wireless driver. They also examined other networking technologies including Bluetooth, Ev-Do (EVolution-Data Only), and HSDPA (High Speed Downlink Packet Access).
The two researchers declined to disclose the specific details of their attack before the August 2 presentation, but they described it in dramatic terms.
"This would be the digital equivalent of a drive-by shooting," said Maynor. An attacker could exploit this flaw by simply sitting in a public space and waiting for the right type of machine to come into range.
The victim would not even need to connect to a network for the attack to work.
"You don't have to necessarily be connected for these device driver flaws to come into play," Ellch said. "Just because your wireless card is on and looking for a network could be enough."
More than half of the flaws that the two researchers found could be exploited even before the wireless device connected to a network.
Wireless devices are often configured to be constantly sniffing for new networks, and that can lead to security problems, especially if their driver software is badly written. Researchers in Italy recently created a hacking lab on wheels, called project BlueBag, to underscore this point by showing just how many vulnerable Bluetooth wireless devices they could connect with by wandering around public spaces like airports and shopping malls. After spending about 23 hours wandering about Milan, they had found more than 1,400 devices that were open to connection.
"Wireless device drivers are like the Wild, Wild West right now," Maynor said. "LORCON has really brought mass Wi-Fi packet injection to script kiddies. Now it's pretty much to the point where anyone can do it."
Part of the problem is that the engineers who write device drivers often do not have security in mind, he said.
A second problem is that vendors also make devices do more than they really need to in order to be certified as compliant with a particular wireless standard. That piling on of features can open security holes as well, he said.

Recently several friends and myself have become obsessed with winning a wsop seat through Party Poker or full tilt. At first it seemed like a crazy Idea, but then I made it past round one on a full tilt freeroll. I was number 12th out of a total of 1700 people. I was amazed I had never been in a tournament field higher than 200. My friend; Frank "The Loan Ranger" D’anelli who's personal poker blog is pokerplaybyplay.com, has had the most success recently. I believe he had place in the top 10 more than 10 times and the top 5 4 times, and that is in a field of 4000 people.
Although he is quite the outstanding poker player in his own right I feel it is my duty to assert some credit over his success. I have only been playing poker for a little over a year and in that period of time I have read every poker book I could get my hands on.
Now while the systems outlined in book after book all seem about the same, it has been my experience that if you play good hands like they recommend, and raise when you get these hands, ultimately unless you are an outstanding bluffer and reader of bluffs you will lose everything you came with.
That is the evil secret they don't tell you, Is they are better at the people game than they are at the card game. If you pay attention to your cards more then they players you are doomed.
Online gaming is even more elusive. you can't see the player so you are forced to watch playing style more than anything. The system I have put together that has helped the Loan Ranger with his success will ultimately be revealed through a series of podcasts and you will get a chance to try it out.
Good Luck...and remember

Finally we had navigated our way through the bad service. We waited patiently at the door for the Bus Driver to load the final passengers. My son climbed on to the huge greyhound and was on his way to see his friends in California.
They pulled out of Las Vegas at 10:40, the bus was due to depart at 10:20 and was scheduled to arrive at 3:30 so I am figuring he would be there at about 4:00 PM.
Fourty Five Minutes Later.... My cell phone rings. It is my son he was ranting about the stupid bus driver and air conditioning. I said "What are you saying, it is 107 degrees and he is not running the air conditioning?" He said no "he is running it full blast and we have over heated 3 times." I said "Is it hot in the bus" he said "No it is freezing".
"Why is he running it so cold?" He said; "We had Just past Whiskey Petes Casino and he called and said the bus was having problems and they sent him back to whiskey petes to wait an hour for a new bus."
He said; "Now he is joking about everyone having some gambling time, and I think he did this on purpose. He said it has happend to him a lot." My son stayed outside while everyone else headed into the casino. (he is only 17 and there is not much for a 17 year old to do in a casino.
To make a long story short, the one hour which would have been 12:15 turned into 2:10 Before another bus ride arrived. The Bus driver got his gambling time, and my son arrived in California just after 7:00 pm.
I am have since been told by other people, that the stateline casinos give a lot of perks to bus drivers who bring in big loads of people. I don't know if this guy got to Gamble free or got money or vip treatment or it he just has a gambling problem...or maybe it really was a bad bus, (I doubt it) but I do know my son was 4 hours late to his arrival and noone in my family will ever ride a Greyhound again.

Obviously Greyhound loves themselves and the employees think nothing is wrong so all will stay the same.

School is out, My son decided to go California and hang out with his friends. I booked him a seat online on the greyhound Bus.
We arrived at the station 30 minutes early, and got into the Pre-paid will call line. A nice looking young lady about 30 years old, serving our line. In the next 20 minutes, she was still with the same customer, The man at the other counter, a young man about 23 years old, had taken care of everyone, plus a few more who had gotten in his line. If I was in that line I would have been served already. You know the feeling when you finally realize you got into the wrong line!
The lady was near serving the only customer she had in line. She looked up at me, then over at the other guy and said; "Is there one line or two?" He stated; "There is only one line. Get in the back of the line sir". I said "I have a prepaid ticket that is why I am in the will call line". He said "we don't have a will call line now get in the back of the line". I said "the sign says will call pre-paid tickets", he then said rasing his voice; "I am not going to tell you again now get in the back of the line" (Now I don't know what kind of derilick, people he is used to dealing with, probably treating them like crap yelling at them then calling the police and having them arrested for nothing! But nobody talks to me like that.) I then said; "First of all you don't talk to me in that tone, and second of all If had gotten into your line when I arrived, I would have already been served. He then yelled "Get in the back of the line NOW!" I thought this guy is unreal, its like he thinks I am his kid.
I turned around and went straight to the door that said "DO NOT ENTER Authorized Personnel only!" The young man yelled you can't go in there. I walked right through those doors and the lady inside said, you can't be in here. I said I want to sell the top person in charge, and she said he doesn't see anyone without an appointment. There was a Big red door on the left that said; "Supervisor Do Not Disturb!" I said he'll see me and I walked right in there. There was a lady inside playing games on the computer and I said I need top see the supervisor, "he's kinda busy. "I said "Too Bad, where is he and she said he is out taking a survey". "Well I need someone in charge right now".
Then In walked a nicely dressed lady and she said whats the problem? I told her my story, I Said; This company spends millions of dollars a year to attract people like me, who normally take planes. They try to convince us that the bus is a viable alternative, and when we stupidly fall for this BS, and show up here, your employees chase us back to the airport where we belong. With service like this all you ever will attract is bums, derilicks and people who want to travel with guns and knives in their possession, she said "I am terribly sorry sir you are next in line."
We walked out to the counter and the lady who first refused service to me, now provided service with a smile and was much faster, with her boss standing there.
The moral of the story is:
Do Not Stand For Bad Service!
Walk Through Those "Do Not Disturb" Doors
Insist On Good Service
Demand to See the Boss
and the Bosses Boss
and The Bosses Bosses Boss
Back in the day when Wal-mart provided Great customer service all companies were providing good service.

I have been in the Mortgage Business for almost 10 years. During that time I have yet to find 3 people who actually understood what the Adjustable rate rider on a home loan says.
Most loan officers think they know what it says and most are actually explaining it all wrong, and when you try to explain it to them they get all hostel. For the most part it did not matter what it said because rates were down for a long time and didn't affect the LIBOR,
However the climb in the stock market has also gotten the libor to go up too. Now it is time for all those loan officers to get worried for their clients are about to have 9.25 interest rates instead of the 6.25 percent ones they signed on for.
I am not sure if those loan officers were trying to close the loan the fastest way possible by disguising the actual character of the loan they were representing or if they just really did not understand. Whatever the reason that is the loan you have and the rate is going to go up. So what do you do now?
I have prepared a FREE white paper on the subject and it is available for a FREE download. Simply go to www.mortgagewentup.com

I remember back when I was a kid. My Father and Mother were both Republicans. Living their Republican lives, going to work and doing the Republican thing. They were active in the Republican Party, and at one time, they were activists against Dorothy Healy "A well known Communist" as my mother likes to put it. Dorthy Healy was running for city council in Los Angeles, and it would have been the end of the world as we know it, had she been elected.
Yes I grew up in, and around "the Republican thing", hating Jews, Blacks, Democrats and Communists, oh yes and lets not forget, Gays, although at the time the politically correct term was "Fudge Packers, Faggots or Queers". "God Hates Queers Boy" my daddy would say, But today I wonder "What about toothless redneck racist losers daddy. Does God hate them too?"
As a child of Republicans, after completing 18 years of down home Republican brain washing, I too would become "An Everyone Hatin Republican". I voted for Regan, who was running for President as I was a high school senior. Just like a football fan cheers his team on to victory, My friends and I all cheered in unison, to see the great Ronald Regan, take the seat that is second only to God and Bill Gates. You see all my friends were Republicans, because I was a Republican, I hated everyone who was not a Republican! Even my Black, Jewish and Gay friends were Republicans or at least they Pretended to be so, and pretending to be Republicans, it made them less Black, Jewish and Gay. However even though, the Gay ones were Republicans, and I hated them a little less because of it; They still could not be married for that was Un-Republican. God himself could surely not look down in pride, on a couple of happily married Gay Men, for that would be, so Un-Republican of God, and we all know God is a Republican!
But something happened to my training, I think I must have been hit by brain waves, That had been shot around the globe, by the Jews no less, because somewhere in the middle of the first President named George Bush, my brain began to wake up. I could smell the slight stench of Republicanism.
Time passed and I was just about to register Democrat when the "Un-pardonable thing" happened. Monica Lewinsky (who’s name rhymes with Jewinsky by the way) got down on her knees and sucked the Penis of a Democratic President! In The Oval Office No Less! and Bam I was a card carrying Republican again. How could I have for a moment even doubted, and with this new found re-dedication to Republicanism, suddenly the world was more beautiful, the Blacks were Blacker the Jews were Jewer and the Gays, seemed oh so queer. Yes all was well in Republican land.
Then along came that name, the name that was so destructive to the whole Republican thing. George Bush, but this time they changed it, you see. they slipped in a W. that should do it. After all, we are only trying to fool Republicans? No thinking person would be fooled, but with Republicans, it should pass. But now remember I am no ordinary Republican, I told you earlier about the Jewish Brain Wave event. That single event morphed me into being Super Republican, able to thing beyond ignorant brainwashing.
Now hold on Republicans, try to keep your Republican minds open slightly just for a second. You might learn something. George W. Bush was a grown man whem he ran for President, Being a gown man one would expect, that prior to running for president he had mastered all the basics. Now being a highly educated Republican,(oxymoron if I ever saw one) it seemed like he might be lacking one basic skill, the ability to form a literate sentence. Forming a sentence is a skill that any Democrat learns, from his parents at age five. However lets cut him some slack, and assume that being a Republican, he was so busy learning to hate Blacks, Jews and Fudge Packing Faggots, that the former President Bush (then head of the CIA) did not have time to teach GW how to TALK!
George W. Bush Does get elected President, even though he was lacking proper linguistic skills. (Remember the phrase "Fool me once shame on you, Fool me twice, uh um ....well ya just, not gonna fool me again, thats all") However being able to speak is not necessary to win an election, If you are a Republican in Republicanville. Republicans always vote Republican. A vote for a Democrat would be a vote for Satan himself! (and lets not forget, all those Fudge Packing Wedding Ceremonies). However, having your brother count the votes in the swing state doesn't hurt either. I will admit though, that I have learned one thing from G.W.Bush. I voted for him in the ffirst election, but not the second. and the lesson the President has taught me.... Fool me once shame on you, Fool me twice, uh um ....well ya just, not gonna fool me again, thats all.
Now, we all know about 911, and that fiasco and then of course Fahrenheit 911, which I will not go into, however; I will say that, I DO NOT know one single Republican who would see that movie. It seems the only way is to remain a Republican in good standing, is to not let a bit of information, that is not officially sanctioned, as fit for a Republican's weak mind, enter into thier Republican brain cells.
It almost seems like Republicanism is completely held together by brain washing. Listen to Rush Limbaugh, and Shawn Hannity and they will tell you how to look, walk, talk and think Republican, then you can be standing next to God, side by side at the Pearly Gates, at the moment that they resurrect the Greatest Republican of all time, Ronald Regan!
Did ya feel that, when you heard his name? The Republican deep inside, just shivered as I typed his Ronald Regan's name.
Then that destructive name showed up again. George W. Bush continues making mistakes. But like any good Republican, G.W. does what is good for his big business partners, making all his friends richer. However, as long as we have Rush and Shawn the Republicans will keep on sleeping.
Now when the polls begin to fall, In true Republican form, G.W. Spins a war out of nothing (at the time it was called weapons of mass destruction)
Then suddenly like the boy, in The Emperor Has New Clothes, someone has the guts to stand up and say the truth. The Dixie Chicks come out, and publicly say "Just so you know, we're embarrassed that the president of the United States comes from Texas." The world is out raged how could anyone question something so pure and beautiful, as eighteen year boys getting their legs blown off, for Republicanism and Big Business profits.
George W. Bush, then stepped up, and said that the world should not buy Dixie Chicks cd's! Now wait a minute........ Isn't this America, and isn't the most American thing in the world, Freedom of Speech! Don't we have the right to say our opinion, no matter what it is? without the fear of government retaliation?
I stand up and agree that Republicans, also have Freedom of Speech, and I would never attempt to stop Rush Limbaugh and Shawn Hannity From spilling their Crap, and I believe that George W. Bush has Freedom of Speech also, he does have the right to say whatever he wants, even if we can't understand what he is talking about!
But when the President of the United States stands up and speaks, he is no longer a citizen delivering Free Speech, He is the Official Leader of the United States Government. and when the United States Government's Leader, tells the world not to buy Dixie Chicks CD's, that is the act of Government strong arm tactics, and attacking a citizens business all because they spoke out with what they believed.
Now listen very closely; When Government attempts to intimidate, and therefore impede freedom of speech, that is not the American way, That is called Communism, the Republicans have been saying, someday the Communists would come and take over, well they were right! Instead of finding a communist under their bed, it turns out the communist was sleeping in their bed the whole time.
By The Way.... The Dixie Chicks New CD Take The Long Way is # 1 on the Charts Right Now. Well Mr Bush America Has Spoken!

When I'm 64.
By: Brent Usry
Today is Paul McCartney's 64th Birthday. Who would have thought. What makes this birthday more significant than his last or his next; is that when he was a Beatle, he wrote a song about being OLD and Gray, called when I'm 64. Its kind of like Prince's 1999, when 1999 came out, I thought 1999 was along way off. I would be so old then. Well 1999 came and went, and I still feel like I am young. Does 64 look as old when you get there, as it looks when you are 19?
Its a interesting thing about aging, I have noticed as I have matured, to the ripe old age of 44, It seems that every age is the right age. As we get older our minds get more and more aware, and in tune. I believe it is called; getting wisdom.
So Paul tell us: You wrote some many wise songs, over the years. Is 64 as bad as you thought? Will I still Have my teeth? Will I have any energy? and most of all, Will I need the Big "V".
If you were to read the lyrics to when I'm 64 you would find that Paul thought he would still be rockin at 64, but his rocking would be in a rocking chair. But that doesn't seem to be the case. He is 20 years older than I am, and has been seen out with women, that are at least 30% better than I ever had. And most of all, his Rock and Roll Career is still booming.
Happy Birthday Paul! 64 Doesn't Look Half Bad on You. and Always Remember.....

I was looking through the massive amount of programs, that came with my New Fry's Media/Game computer. It was amazing all the stuff that came loaded for 2500.00 and No Microsoft Word or Excel. Just when I caught myself about to exit to DOS and Typing C:FORMAT I ran across this little program called: Microsoft Dancer. It is a little character that dances on your desktop.
I may be a writer with no writing program but least I have a dancer to watch while I am sitting here doing nothing but this time thanks to Microsoft and Fry's I am fully justified in my writers block. I think things like this dancers is cute, but it is a scam. Perhaps I was to decide to load Linux Fedora 5 on my computer because it is the best program in the world, and it comes with a website builder, a word processor and spreadsheet program loaded from the beginning for less that $32.00, compare that with Microsoft XP that is 100.00 and is only an operating system.
Well back to the scam If I wanted to load Linux but liked the little dancer I am stuck with Microsoft. Microsoft sticks in little fun things instead of good solid programs, in order to keep us from Saying No To Microsoft.
However, I did load Fedora 5 on an old laptop of mine, and I love it, before you make the big switch try it on an old computer and see if it for you.
and remember....
