2008 has come and gone. A lot has happened over the year and contrary to the general opinion I would have to say this year has still been quite positive in its results. I am quite amazed by the way things turn within the fabric of time. Last year I set out a list of resolutions.
  1. Apply for Law School
  2. Learn HTML
  3. Journal More Frequently
  4. Read the Entire Bible
  5. Earn the Pay Grade of E5
  6. Develop a closer relationship with God
  7. Go to bed earlier
  8. Apply for OCS
  9. Complete my Bachelors Degree
  10. Become more involved in my Church
While I cannot say I completed this entire list I am satisfied. I completed my Bachelors Degree, and I applied for OCS. While I did not read the entire Bible I did read a significant third of it and have developed a greater relationship with God. As for my church circumstances arose that kept me away from it more than I would appreciate, and being that I will be geographically relocated in a short amount of time it did not seem as pressing with this church. As for E5 while I did not get advanced off of the exam, upon acceptance into the OCS program I will be automatically advanced anyway, first to E5 and then to O1 after completion.

It was by all estimation a good year. While the economy could be better, it still isn't that bad. Today is a day of opportunity. If 2008 ended on a bad note, 2009 is a clean slate for rebuilding and restructure and reinvestment. For those of us who like myself have a conservative agenda the election of our incoming President may have been disappointing, but it does offer opportunity. Martin Luther King Jr had a dream that we would judge people on the content of their character not the color of their skin. In that respect we can only hope America will come to understand this true meaning.

Obama is the next President of the United States.  I hear daily the importance of a black President. Either I am blind to this importance or America is still not understanding Dr. King's words, in either case perhaps the mere existence of this President will be enough to move America beyond race and start focusing on the importance of issues: Traditional Values vs. their Breakdown, Freedom vs Sharia Law and or Jijadism, Capitalism vs Socialism and its variants...

While I doubt there is anything I can do to make an impact on my interceding musing my resolutions for the year I hope will make an impact not only on myself but on those around me. I hope in turn that they will make a difference outward and that one day at a time the world continues to the better place I am fighting for.

The list for the year of 2009
  1. I will graduate from OCS
  2. I will complete the Bible, and start over.
  3. I will continue to Learn HTML
  4. I will have a basic understanding of C and C++
  5. I will start learning Java
  6. I will start working on my Graduate Degree
  7. I will read the books on my list (to be posted later)
  8. I will find a new Viola teacher and start lessons again, (if not possible I will practice at least once a week)
  9. I will journal/blog more frequently.
  10. I will play chess more often.
  11. I will complete a modified Ubuntu distribution to better suit my needs, from there I will work on a modified Debian to work on the one day product to be mentioned as it nears completion.
That is all for now, though I am sure other ones will be created as time continues down it's inevitable course.

Title Says it all.  May Christ shine his blessings on those around you and save all whom you encounter.

Linspire has fixed their kernel. Wine now works the way it is intended. My Laptop is now running with my preferred OS, Linspire. If you haven't tried them out I recommend downloading freespire and giving it a try. I use the commercial version because I like the product and I want to see continue to produce a quality product. <br></a>

Currently I am running Ubuntu 7.10. So far I am quite fond of this OS, though I still prefer the now based on Ubuntu Freespire / Linspire. I say I like these, because they have taken the time to obtain legally proprietary software that others have not. Such as the rights to some Microsoft Fonts, windows media api, adobe and java. As well as commercial drivers.

As for Ubuntu 7.10 Wine works on this flawlessly for my uses which is in fact how I am using Radio. Also Compiz works well. Of course there is that wonderful lack of viruses that you find in any Linux OS as well. I will tell more as my relationship with this flavor matures. So far however quite satisfied with Ubuntu Gutsy.

It has been a long time since my last post.  Sadly I have lost all of my old postings but I am back up and running again, hoorah.  For those of you who do not know me or what I write about it is a combination of things.

Our first subject matter is concerning the matter of Christianity, note I do not say religion Christianity is not a religion it is a relationship with Jesus Christ.  The Second major topic is Political Discourse.  Third  is Family.  The Fourth falls into the Category of Linux.  And finally I of course will discuss the game of Chess.
